It has been reported that as many as 20 shopkeepers have been taken into custody by the Faisalabad police over the violation of lockdown due to the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the details, the arrested people had resumed their business activities and failed to follow the instructions issued by the district administration.
The police have initially punished the violators by making them stand in the sun for more than half an hour.
The details further said that as many as six shopkeepers were reportedly arrested while others were allowed to walk free after a warning.
It is pertinent to mention here that around 25 areas in Punjab’s Faisalabad are under a smart lockdown since June 16. The PTI-led provincial government of Punjab has enforced the smart lockdown in those areas for two weeks.
The residents of the sealed areas have been barred by the local administration from coming out from their homes unnecessarily.
