The parliamentary committee of Shehbaz Sharif-led Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) approved Rana Tanveer as the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
The parliamentary committee also nominated the former defence minister and veteran leader of PML-N Khawaja Asif as the parliamentary leader in the National Assembly of Pakistan.

As per the details, under the current political circumstances and after the consultation with Nawaz Sharif, the president of PML-N Shehbaz Sharif had decided to appoint Rana Tanveer as the chairman of PAC and Khawaja Muhammad Asif as the parliamentary leader.
The details further said that both of the leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) were nominated by the former three-time prime minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif.
According to the procedure, the party will now have to write a letter to the Speaker of the National Assembly regarding the changes. After receiving the letter, the office of the speaker will issue a notification about the appointment of the new chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
Earlier, president of PML-N Shehbaz Sharif accepted the chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) on the insistence of the joint opposition in the national assembly.
