The foreign ministry has been ordered by Prime Minister Imran Khan to provide him with the data of all the overseas Pakistanis.
The PM wants to send funds, ration and other help to the Pakistanis living abroad amid the coronavirus pandemic. The pandemic has caused panic all across the world.
Remittances sent by the overseas Pakistanis contribute a big chunk of revenues for Pakistan, as per the Prime Minister. Their contribution is undeniable and essential fir Pakistan.
It is also assured by the Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi that the nationals stuck abroad will be brought back.
A surprise visit was paid to the Emergency Crisis Management Unit in the Foreign Ministry Office. The director general of the unit informed to Qureshi that 11,529 stranded residents were brought back to Pakistan and 62,709 are still stuck abroad.
Qureshi commended the unit management. He reinforced that the government understands the difficulties faced by the people and will work tirelessly for their return.
