It was revealed by the Interior Minister Ijaz Shah that Prime Minister Imran Khan will lay the foundation stone of Baba Guru Nanak University in Nankana Sahib on 28th October.
He said, “This University would be the first of its kind where there will be a special focus on the subjects of Punjabi language and Khalsa.”
According to the minister, the university will be an example of cultural, professional growth along with interfaith harmony.
Adding, “It will also serve as a community center for Sikhs around the world.”
Shah appreciated the efforts of the prime minister for the protection and improvement of religious minorities in Pakistan.
He said that there will be more projects that will be launched in Nankana Sahib other than the university.
Other than this while addressing the passing out parade of ASPs at the National Police Academy in Islamabad, the minister said that the police were the first line of defense to tackle internal issues that include terrorists and criminals.
He said, “It is only through dispensing justice that law and order can be ensured in the country.”
Shah said that police are an extremely sacred profession and thus the police officers must be loyal and committed towards it.
He said, “However, the government has decided to hire more staff in the police department despite financial constraints.”
