Prime Minister Imran Khan would be inaugurating the Naya Pakistan Housing Authority on the 17th of April in the federal capital.
While giving a briefing to the media after a session of the federal cabinet, Fawad Chaudhry—the Information Minister said that 135,000 units would be constructed across the nation in the initial phase.
He said that 25,000 apartments would be built in the capital city for the employees of the federal government and 110,000 apartments would be built in the province of Baluchistan for the fishermen of Gwadar.
Fawad Chaudhry informed that the cabinet has also given approval for the making of a Media University which would be established in the capital city. He said that the media university would be built after combining 3 academies which are the Information Academy, Pakistan Broadcasting Academy and PTV Academy.
Previously, Imran Zeb Khan—the secretary housing while giving details of the different housing schemes and projects being undertaken in the first phase of the NPHP said that the Housing Ministry would be inking an MoU—Memorandum of Understanding with the Baluchistan government for the different housing projects in Quetta—5,000 apartments in Wahdat Colony, Fisher Colony—54,000 apartments, Gwadar—55,000 apartments and other places of the province.
In Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), 3,000 units would be built whereas 19,000 would be constructed in the capital city in the initial phase.
The registration process for the Naya Pakistan Housing Scheme started on the 22nd of October.
