Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed—the Minister for Railways informed on Saturday that the Prime Minister Imran Khan would inaugurate a VIP train—Jinnah Express on the 20th of March.
While addressing a press conference at the PR Headquarters, he said that the Thar Express had already left for Monabao—India from Khokhrapar carrying 600 passengers yesterday that is Saturday while Samjhota Express train would also be started again from Monday.
He congratulated the railway officers and workers for ensuring of successful operation in mid of the geopolitical tensions and added that the department has facilitated 25 percent more passengers during the suspension of flight operations in the country.

He added that the Railways of Pakistan has also met with the demand of the armed forces. He said that they declared an emergency in railways and surged the oil reserves to 30 days with the assistance of the Finance Minister—Asad Umar, who made sure to provide Rs1.2 billion for this purpose.
The minister said that the department was going to give tenders for ML-1 and Tuftan-Quetta railway track under the build-operate-transfer (BOT) basis.
He made the announcement that a standard gauge track would also be laid in future and added that technology in South Asia was improving at a faster pace as Russia, Turkey, and Iran were uniting for future developments. He added that Pakistan would also join them by linking these nations via rail.
