The biggest tree plantation campaign will be inaugurated today by Prime Minister Imran Khan. He invited everyone to join him in this initiative.
The PM invited via a tweet, his MPs, Ministers, Chief Ministers and Tiger Force volunteers to join and participate in the biggest tree planting campaign.
PM said that there target is to plant 3.5 million trees in a day. They would try to not reach the target but also exceed it.
The volunteers took charge of their respective roles and divided themselves in to various teams to distribute their duties.
On the directives of PM Khan, the saplings distribution has been completed. Now they will be planted on Sunday.
A message was sent by the Special Assistant to PM on Youth Affairs Usman Dar in which opposition leaders including Shehbaz Sharif, Bilawal Bhutto, Khawaja Asif were asked to join the tree plantation drive.
The politician said, “The Sindh government should [join us in] favour of national interest.”
It was revealed by Dar that the PM himself would also join the volunteers and the public today. In the federal capital, the driver will begin under the leadership of PM and in Sialkot it would commence under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.
Furthermore, he said that it is important that the civil society, district administration, forest department and the general public join hands to make this campaign successful.
Back in July the PM announced that August 9th will be celebrated as the Tiger Force Day.
The PM said, “We have to plant 10 billion trees until 2023.”
