PM Khan on Friday has launched the Ehssas Amdan Programme in Layyah for uplifting the less privileged areas of the society, as per the reports of local media.
The Ehsaas Amdan Programme of 15 billion rupees is focused on providing respectable livelihood chances for those who are the ones at most disadvantages.
The programme includes giving away small assets to the ones who live below the line of poverty so that they could earn their living and come out of the distress of poverty.
These assets have got goats, poultry, cows, bodies of Chingchi rickshaws, buffaloes and the inputs from small retail outlets and small enterprises.
While speaking at the occasion, PM Khan appreciated the efforts of his adviser Sania Nishtar for introducing the programme and said that they are trying to making Pakistan a welfare state, the very idea for which the country was formed 70 years back.
He also said that no society where the poor and the rich segments are treated unequally has ever made any development and quoted the example of China where 700 million people were brought above the poverty line during the past years.
He also said that under this programme they would be offering a cow, a buffalo, three goats to women for running their household. He also said that 80,000 people would be offered interest-free loans every month under the programme.
PM Khan said that it is for the first time such a programme is started in the nation where efforts are being put to uplift the less privileged areas of the society.
