On Thursday Prime Minister Imran Khan instructed the Employees of Old Age Benefits Institution—EOBI to assure that maximum facility are provided to the pensioners.
While heading a briefing on EOBI, PM Khan ordered the table that the pending matters between the centre and the provinces be resolved early before the Council of Common Interests.
Syed Zulfiqar Abbas Bukhari—the Special Assistant to PM on Overseas Pakistanis and the Human Resource Development, Azhar Hameed—the Chairman EOBI and other senior officials were the meeting attendees.
The Prime Minister was briefed about the functionality of EOBI and the measures being taken for improving the workflow of the institute.
A Pension Day would be scheduled across the nation for boosting the employees and beneficiaries.
PM was informed about the digitization and the automation in the sector for reducing the corruption, fraudulent activities and delays.
A formation plan of a data bank for the registered employees and a modern compliant management system was also shared with the Prime Minister.
The EOBI also gave a proposal to the PM for the construction of low-cost houses under EOBI and Pakistan Real Estate Investment and Management Company, under this plan, five thousand-five hundred houses of 3 to 5 marlas would be constructed.
