Prime Minister Imran Khan has made the decision of appointing Fawad Chaudhry as his spokesperson.
As per sources, the federal minister for Science and Technology would be serving as the spokesperson of the prime minister besides manging his science and technology ministry.
The present spokesperson of the PM—Nadeem Afzal Chan who is also the special assistant to PM on parliamentary coordination, wants to step down expressing his inability to carry on managing the post.
According to a media affairs expert, PM Khan has requested Fawad Chaudhry to replace Chan.
An official notification would be issued by the Prime Minister’s Office in a few days.
However, the government is denying any such claims of making Fawad Chaudhry as the spokesperson of PM.
The sources further informed that Babar Awan is most likely to get appointed as the key adviser to the PM in the upcoming changes in the federal cabinet.
Other than this, the Special Assistant to PM on Media—Iftikhar Durrani has also been showing a lack of interest in his role. He was sent for election campaigning to the tribal districts however was side-lined soon after the elections.
As per the PM Office, Durrani is still holding the position however is not performing duties at his office and spends time at the party office in the federal capital.
Durrani on the matter said that he had just finished his assignment in the tribal districts, and he was taking a break until provided with another task.
