Imran Khan—the Prime Minister of Pakistan has decided to completely put an end to the interference of the Federal Ministry of Information and Broadcasting in the operations of Pakistan Television (PTV).
According to the details, the decision was taken to entirely cease the involvement of the Information ministry in the operations of PTV, Radio Pakistan, and Shalimar Broadcasting during a meeting chaired by the Prime Minister in Islamabad.
As per the recent development, all the decisions in the state-owned television will be taken by the board of Pakistan Television (PTV) and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting would not be allowed to review those decisions.
The Prime Minister decided that the Pakistan Television (PTV) would independently run its financial as well as the administrative matters.
It has also been decided that the Information Ministry would only provide Pakistan Television with policy and editorial guidelines. The board of directors of state-run television and Shalimar Broadcasting would also be merged.
