The first affordable housing project has been inaugurated for the general public by Prime Minister Imran Khan. Under PTI government’ program ‘Naya Pakistan Housing Project (NPHP)’ a piece of land was given by Bahria Town in Phulgaran area to execute the program.
The director-general of the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation Wasim Bajwa said, “The land for the project was provided by Bahria Town on very nominal rates.”
18,500 housing units/apartments will be built under the project and they will be provided to low-income people on a mortgage basis.

According to Mr. Bajwa, acquisition of 1,785-kanal land has been done from Bahria Town for the NPHP.
He said, “Not only the land but Bahria Town’s management will also construct 10,000 housing units in the same area later for NPHP.”
The project is being executed in collaboration with Bahria Town under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSP).
Mr. Bajwa revealed, “It is the first housing scheme launched solely for the general public under NHHP as previous schemes, under NPHP, were meant for federal government employees with a meager share of the general public with the ratio of 70 percent share of employees and 30pc of the general public.”
Two or three banks will provide loans to the people on a monthly installment of Rs10,000.
