Road to Makkah pilot project will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Imran Khan next week. Under this project, the immigration for the intending Hajj pilgrims will be cleared at the Pakistani airports instead of in Saudi Arabia.
The Director Media Ministry of Religious Affairs Imran Siddiqui revealed this. He stated that in the first phase the facility will be given at the Islamabad International Airport. Then gradually the facility will be extended to other cities and airports of Pakistan.
Furthermore, Imran Siddiqui said that the Hajj flight operation will start from the major cities of Pakistan that are Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, and Quetta. The flights will continue till August 5th.
The Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad Bin Salman announced the Road to Makkah Project. He made the announcement during his most recent visit to Pakistan.
Prime Minister Imran Khan requested the Saudi Prince to save Pakistani Hajjis from the immigration issues and hassle at the Saudi airports. Thus the Saudi Crown Prince considering this request, made the announcement that will be implemented next week.
