Prime Minister—Imran Khan would be inaugurating the 5m housing project today.
As per sources, the prime minister would be inaugurating the project titled as “Apna Ghar Authority” at 5 pm in the evening at the Prime Minister House today.
The registration process for the houses is also expected to start from today, as per the sources. However, the sources revealed that registration for the houses does not require allotment and would only be acknowledging those in need.
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has been provided with the task of gathering data for identifying the ones in need, the sources further revealed.

Additionally, areas, where low-costing houses could be built, would also be identified. The sources further said that the private sector has been made a part of the housing project for giving suggestions on completing the project in the span of five years.
Initially, the model project would be launched in the seven cities which include Sukkur, Gilgit, Faisalabad, Quetta, Dera Ismail Khan, Islamabad and Muzaffarabad.
In the month of Sethe September, prime minister—Imran Khan had announced that he would take ownership of the initiative for ensuring smooth implementation and removal of any administrative difficulties.
The prime minister said that the provision of five million houses provided with all basic facilities and registration of slums is the topmost priority of the government and a part of the manifesto of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
