On Monday, PM Khan renewed the resolve of the government to turn the loss-making state-owned entity Pakistan Railways into a profitable national entity, as per the reports of local media.
While heading a meeting on the reformation of the railways at the PM House in the federal capital, he stressed the need for overhauling the institution for making it operational and profitable.
It is pertinent to mention that the growth of the railways is crucial for the growth of the nation, he issued instructions for ironing out a detailed plan in consultation with his adviser on the institutional reforms Dr Ishrat Hussain for overhauling the railways.
The meeting attendees were Sheikh Rasheed the Minister of Railways, Dr Ishrat Hussain and other relevant officers.
PM Khan was briefed on a reduction in the deficit of railways and a surge in the number of passenger coaches, public-private alliance measures and the facilities being offered to the passengers.
