In the forex market today, the Pakistani rupee (PKR) strengthened by 18 paisa against USD and closed at PKR 158.89 per USD. The previous day, the closing rate of USD was PKR 159.07 per USD.
According to the source, PKR faced a dull trading session with a little intraday movement within a range of 20 paisa per USD showing an intraday high bid of 159.05 and a low offer of 158.90.
Moreover, within the Open Market, PKR was traded at 159.00/159.60 per USD.
On the other hand, PKR depreciated by 99 paisa against GBP and closed at PKR 223.63 per GBP. The previous day it closed at PKR 222.65 per GBP.
PKR also weakened by 74 paisa against EUR and closed at PKR 193.18.
It is further reported that the overnight repo rate towards the close of the session was 7.05/7.10%, whereas the 1-week rate was 7.00/7.05%.
