Government has launched the pink bus service for the women of the province Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The bus service has been introduced for a hassle-free journey for the females with utmost security.
The new separate transportation facility has been launched especially for the ladies. It has been started in Mardan and it would be having 10 new buses in pink colour chosen for the women passengers which would be providing ease of travelling on many routes.
The Trans Peshawar Board official said that people are generally more cautious and overprotective for the safety of their loved ones particularly for their women and children. He added that the pink ride would provide a safe and comfortable experience to the female commuters.
He also said that this bus service would be removing the obstructions for the women empowerment by providing them with job opportunities.

As per the officials, the project would go a long way for facilitating the women after the start of these pink buses in Mardan the KPK government would further be expanding this project in Abbottabad which was already in the final stages of its plan.
The official informed that 15 pink buses were gifted by the government of Japan to KPK.
The buses would be available for the lady passengers from morning until 10 pm. Each bus has a capacity of 40 seats, but passengers could also stand in the bus while travelling.
The bus is provided with additional security and other facilities like first aid kits and special bus controls.
Last year in May the United Nations Office on Project Services had given 14 pink buses to the KPK government for operating a women-only transport service in the districts of Mardan and Abbottabad.
The launch of the pink bus service had been delayed for a year owing to the disinterest of the transport firms.
