Last year, the government of Japan donated pink buses to Pakistan. Due to the BRT project in Peshawar, the buses were not operational in KP.
The roads of the city were not in a condition to run cross city buses. Thus, the then Chief Minister Pervez Khattak transferred the project from Peshawar to Abbottabad and Mardan.
Even then it has taken an year for the bus service to be finally operational. Even though there had been delays the provincial department of transport is highly optimistic that the service will now be operational by mid of February.
Also on February 6th first 20 buses of the BRT project reached Peshawar from Karachi.
