The top officials of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) have announced a voluntarily cut in their salaries following the losses sustained by the national airline due to coronavirus.
As per the details, all the flight operations of the national carrier flag of Pakistan within and outside the country remain suspended due to the spread of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) around the world.
Air Marshal Arshad Malik—the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), initially, announced a voluntarily cut of 20% from his salary amid the losses sustained by the national airline.

Following the footsteps of the CEO, other top-level officials of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) also announced a cut in their salaries.
As per the details, the chief officers of the departments have announced a 20% cut, followed by a 15% cut from the salaries of the general managers of the national carrier-flag. On the other hand, a 10% cut from the salaries of the deputy general managers and 8% from the managers’ salaries have also been announced.
The spokesperson of the Pakistani International Airlines said that announcing the voluntarily cut from the salaries of the national airlines’ officers will help the airline in overcoming its financial burden to an extent.
