The national carrier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is launching direct Sialkot-London flights from September 2019. PIA has released a statement that states that the route will be functional from 10th September. In the first phase, PIA will operate a flight per week.
It has been confirmed by the country manager of PIA in the UK Sajid Qaji that the flights to London’s Heathrow airport from Sialkot will fly every Tuesday while the flight from Heathrow-Sialkot will operate on every Wednesday.
The flight schedule for the route has been issued by PIA as well. At 10:15 am every Tuesday, flight PK777 will take off from Sialkot and will reach at Heathrow Airport London at 14:50 local time. Then at 6:25 pm every Wednesday, flight PK778 will depart from Heathrow and will reach at Sialkot International Airport at 06:25 am.
The route will hold importance for the Sikh pilgrims who come from abroad to celebrate the 550th Birthday of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The Sikh pilgrims may consider the direct Sialkot route to begin their holy journey as it’s 100 kilometers away from Kartarpur Gurdwara as soon as the direct flights start.
