It is clear that the meetings of Prime Minister Imran Khan with the U.S President Donald Trump have paid off and the national air carrier Pakistan International Airline (PIA) will benefit from it. It was announced by PIA that it will start direct flights to the U.S in 2020, and chances are that it would be April 2020.
Earlier the details of the proposed operations to the U.S were not known, but a reply by PIA’s official handle on Twitter has hinted that PIA’s direct flights to the U.S will begin in April.
A Twitterati user Tariq Bilal asked PIA regarding its plans to begin the U.S flights.
PIA tweeted, “No matter what the weather, we’re here for you. Due to the record-breaking freezing temperature of -22°C and blocked roads in Skardu; we operated two special flights to airlift 6 patients to Islamabad for treatment, who needed immediate attention because of lack of medical.”
A Twitterati replied to this post, “PIA flights for the USA.”
PIA replied to it, ‘See you in April’.
This is a piece of good news for the overseas Pakistanis in the U.S. This new route will reduce the travel time and make the travel smoother and easier. Due to financial losses, PIA did discontinue its flights earlier.
Another Twitterati hoped that keeping in mind the previous mismanagement of PIA, this plan of launching direct flights by April does not come out as an April Fool.
