PIA has taken the decision of sending its employees on paid leaves. The employees would be given rotation-based paid leaves from the 14th of April, as per an order of the HR chief of the airline.
Amer Altaf, the Air Commodore has forwarded an email to the selection heads that the employees would be sent on a 10-day paid leave so that the complete work force gets to avail their respective leaves without any exceptions on a per month basis.
The decision has been taken to reduce the unnecessary cost owing to the non-utilization of the manpower and to decrease the linked overhead costs with it.
The section heads have been asked to plan the service rotations in a way that the operations throughout the nation do not get affected.
Both the local and international flights have been suspened in the nation until the 21st of April.
The Civil Aviation Authority’s spokesperson Abdul Sattar Khokar on the 2nd of April had said that the special, diplomatic and cargo flights would be given an exemption from the order.
The aviation authority has directed to install the thermal scanners at the domestic passenger lounges at the Karachi airport.
