Flight operations will be resumed by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) to and from United Kingdom from August 14. This was revealed by a PIA spokesperson Abdullah Khan.
More than 250 passengers will be carried on the first flight PK9702 from Manchester to Islamabad. Then the next flight PK9785 will carry passengers from Islamabad to London. The flights are scheduled for August 14 and 15th.
The first will carry more than 250 passengers from Manchester to Islamabad and the next flight will airlift passengers from Islamabad to London are scheduled for August 14 and 15 respectively.
An agreement has been made between PIA and a Portugal based airline. Under the agreement an alternate arrangement has been made in which the airbus A-330 would be used for the flight operation. It would have a PIA slot and call sign. The airline would have 300 seats capacity.
The spokesperson said that PIA would follow all the standard operating procedures (SOPs) of Covid-19. There would less passengers accommodated against the actual capacity of the plane.
He further said that a preference would be given to the travelers of Pakistan origin settled in significant number in UK. The preference would be given in tickets provision to economy and business classes of the flights.
The spokesperson said, “PIA intended to increase flight operation in the coming days in view of the demand for additional flights between the two countries.”
