PIA (Pakistan International Airlines) is willing to commence direct flights to Germany and Frankfurt and other Scandanavian nations.
These remarks have been made by the CEO of the Airline, Air Marshal Arshad Malik while he was having a meeting in Sialkot.
The CEO said that sending flights to Scandinavian countries like Sweden or Norway via Frankfurt, Germany will not boost the business of the airlines rather it will facilitate the local exporters.

Restarting this route is connected with the PIA’s current business plan which says that the airline is interested to send flights to Frankfurt and other countries which were once part of the PIA’s route network.
Although there is no plan mentioned in the business plan to turn this dream into a reality. The Chief executive officer of the national flag carrier also mentioned that the direct flights to Madina from Sialkot will be starting next year.
Previously, Pakistan International Airlines surged the charges for extra baggage. The national flag-carrier has fixed the rates of Rs.8,500 for extra luggage weighing to more than 10kilograms on both the domestic and the international flights.
It would be required by the commuters to pay a sum of Rs.2,500 and Rs.800 on per kilogram of the additional baggage from Karachi to Dubai and from Karachi to Jeddah flights.
Earlier, PIA was charging Rs.100 per kilogram on the additional baggage but now the rates have been fixed on the amount of Rs.250.
