PIA to Add 4 New Planes to its Fleet

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) is intending to add 4 new planes in its fleet, as informed by the President and CEO of PIA—Marshal Arshad Malik on Wednesday.

While addressing the PIA employees during a ceremony at the head office of the airline, Malik said that the plan of enhancing the fleet is already in development and soon the airline would be expanding its network and would be increasing its access throughout the world.

He told that ever since he has joined PIA, his aim has been to make the institution the leading airline with mutual efforts and wisdom, adding that he was hopeful about the positive results owing to great potential the airline has got.

He also said that they would be strictly following the route to rationalise the policy and new potential routes would also be introduced.

Air Marshal added that they have already begun the Sialkot to Sharjah and Lahore to Muscat flights and the results obtained are pretty promising. He informed that in near future PIA would be introducing the flights on Sialkot to Barcelona and Lahore to Bangkok routes.

He urged the PIA employees to work together and said that all are aware of the issues being faced especially by the employees. As soon as the airline would come out of the financial limitations, the salaries of all the airline employees would be revised.

He also gave directives to the employees to work for the betterment of PIA without showing flexibility on the service standards. He also said that he would be visiting each department personally for discussing the problems faced by the employees.

The PIA chief added that merit would be maintained in PIA regarding promotions.
