PIA Tickets Become Scarce As Saudi Arabia Relaxes Travel Restrictions

The PIA tickets became scarce as soon as the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia relaxed the travel restrictions. Passengers were seen rushed outside the PIA Islamabad Office.

According to the details, the national flag carrier started the booking from the 15th of September, however, the passengers are experiencing issues as the reservation department has got a limited number of tickets.

This has come as Saudi Arabia announced that it would be lifting the suspension of the international flights as of the 15th of September to permit the exceptional categories of the residents and citizens to travel.

Saudi Arabia would be easing all the travel restrictions on land, air, and sea transportation for the citizens on the 1st of Jan 2021.

In the meantime, the passengers say that the staff is not showing a cooperative attitude, the travel agents are selling the tickets in Black for Rs.150,000.

The CEO of PIA Arshad Malik took notice of the matter and asked for strict action to be taken on the recovery of the extra fare being charged. As per the spokesperson of the airline, the fare of PIA including tax is Rs.84,000 which includes the commission of the agents.

The GCC citizens and the non-Saudi residents with valid residency or visitors’ visas would be permitted to enter the Kingdom as of the 15th of September on the condition that they prove to be coronavirus negative.
