A driver for PIA VIP Coaster service was suspended over the complaint of provincial minister of current government PMLN who was strongly dissatisfied on poor transport service, sources told the Nation on Thursday.
PIA’s technical ground support manager has suspended the VIP coaster service driver Irfan and directed a departmental inquiry against the driver over the complaint of Punjab minister for labor and Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar.
The sources said Mr. Sarwar arrived at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport from Lahore on PIA flight PK-652 at 3:50 pm. They said the minister had to wait 10 minutes for the VIP coaster to arrive and escort him to Rawal Launch from Apron.
The minister became angry for waiting 10 minutes and summoned TGS manager Buland Akhter to lodge a complaint against the PIA lazy staff, particularly the VIP coaster driver. The minister asked to take strict action against the driver, they added.
However, TGS manager Buland Akhter and Provincial Minister Raja Ashfaq Sarwar were not immediately available for comments.
