PIA suspends all Flight Operations to Karachi


On Thursday, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) suspended all incoming and outgoing fight to Karachi due to heavy rain.

 Today, five PIA flights were scheduled to take off from the Karachi to different cities of Pakistan including; PK-368 which was going to leave for Islamabad, PK-540 had to leave for Faisalabad and PK-304, PK-502 and PK-522 had to leave for Lahore. But now, all these flights have delayed and will be rescheduled again.

A flight was coming from Lahore to Karachi but due to the current situation of Karachi’s weather, it made an emergency landing at the Sukkur Airport. The flight will be rescheduled after the weather improves.

Karachi received moderate and heavy rainfall today. Many of the areas of Karachi are now flooding with water. Areas include; Tariq Road, Nagan Chowrangi, and DHA Phase VI.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted that the downpour is expected to continue throughout the day till 11 pm.

On the other hand, the KPK government is planning on manufacturing helicopters for rescue purposes and also in order to enhance tourism. A former Air Force employee earlier built an ultra-lightweight helicopter in his backyard and now he is going to head the KPK government in building the helicopters.
