The Pakistan Consulate in Dubai has given confirmation that the repatriation flight operations would continue until Saturday that is the 27th of June. This was confirmed by Ahmed Amjah Ali, the Consul General of Pakistan in Dubai.
As per a video message shared by the Consul General PIA would operate special flights until the 27th of June to bring back the stranded 25,000 Pakistanis from the Gulf nations.
As these flights are strictly restricted from UAE to Pakistan, the national flag carrier has no choice but to surge the airfares. Hence, the new one-way ticket for Karachi would charge Dh 1,270 and for Peshawar Dh 1,470, as per the information shared by Ali.
The Consul General has also issued a warning to the expatriates to be aware of the travel agents as there are many scammers who are conning people of their money in the name of selling them air tickets.
So far, more than 80,000 stranded Pakistanis have got themselves registered to return home after many of them lost their jobs or were sent on forced leaves owing to the epidemic. These people have been living with difficulty as many were left with no money for house rent or even food.
The federal government has started a special flight operation last week to bring back more than 15,000 Pakistanis from the UAE and 10,000 from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
