PIA has surged its ticket prices by Rs.5,000 for its one-way flight from Karachi to Lahore. The one-way flight ticket was earlier being sold for Rs.7,400, however now it now costs Rs.12,400.
It has been witnessed that the local airlines raised their fares after flocks of people were seen rushing for buying the reduced airline tickets.
The spokesperson of the national flag carrier said that the ticket bookings would now be processed via the system. He also said that when the rush would decrease, the fares would come down too.
People were seen crowded at the booking agents after the reduction in the airplane tickets by the Pakistan International Airlines. It introduced a new package for the flights between Karachi, Islamabad, and Lahore with 20 kgs of luggage. As part of the newly introduced package, the fare of the one-way ticket was Rs.7,400 for a one-way flight and Rs.13,500 for a return ticket.
PIA reduced the fares for many domestic flights since there was a decrease in passengers opting for traveling since the COVID-19 epidemic hit the nation. The spokesperson of the airline had explained that the decision was such that it may urge people to travel.
