The national career Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) resumes Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur flights after a long halt of two years on Monday.
The national airline has resumed the flights to both cities on early morning on Monday with PK-896 leaving the hub first. The direct flight between Lahore and Kuala Lumpur was resumed back after a long two years gap.
The national career is using it Boeing 777 for the flights to both cities, the company has scheduled twice a week flights to Kuala Lumpur via Bangkok.
The current PIA CEO and President Air Marshal Arshad Malik said PIA is now committed to provide direct flights to customers in order to minimize the problems that could be faced during connecting flights. The national career will resume all the previous flights that are profitable for the company, he said.
PIA is also planning to open new routes that are profitable once the new fleet of aircraft arrives. It was reported earlier that PIA is planning to add four new aircraft to the fleet and the company is planning to open several new international destinations. Last month, the company also resumed flights to Sharjah and Muscat.
Finance Minister Asad Umar also said while talking to media that the government has no plans to privatize state owned entities including PIA rather the government is more focused on reviving them. The company is now offering amazing discounts on international flights in order to rebuild customer trust, the company has significantly reduced fares for international flights so the customers start using the national career again.
