Flights to the United Kingdom and Europe have been resumed by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) from alternate routes. There was a flight scheduled on Independence Day which operated on time.
The first PIA flight left with 260 passengers from Paris to Islamabad. At 2 p.m., local time, the flight departed for Paris.
It was revealed by the Minister for Aviation Ghulam Sarwar Khan that the Ministry of Aviation and Civil Aviation Authority are playing an important role in the resumption of PIA flights. He further said that the international safety agencies concerns will soon be resolved.
According to Ghulam Sarwar Khan, the flight took 18 passengers in the Executive Economy. The remaining 242 travelers travelled in economy class. Similarly, almost 2.4 tons of cargo was delivered to Pakistan by flight.
Other than this, PIA’s alternate routes to the UK have resumed as well. Flight PK-9702 was the first PIA flight after resumption that carried 265 passengers on board. It left Manchester at 9:05 pm Manchester time.
It is pertinent to mention here that the plea by PIA for reducing the flight ban was rejected by the European air safety agency. The agency is thinking to extend the ban until 31st December 2020.
