Cyan asked the support of Shelton to permit PIA for conducting non-stop flights to New York.
She was supportive in her answer and said that she would “extend possible cooperation regarding the airline”. Plus she said that she will provide her utmost support in taking the matter to the concerned US officials.
In the month of October, PPP lawmakers submitted a notice to National Assembly of Pakistan regarded Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) closing down flight operations in the USA. It was pointed out in the notice that if PIA closes its routes to the USA it will affect around half a million Pakistanis residing in the USA and many more visitor Pakistanis in the USA. There will be no direct flights between the two countries and it will affect business.
PIA is going through a rough patch, the incidents and accidents have increased, financially the airline is dying, its routes are closing and what it needs is some hope and good luck now.
