On Thursday, Pakistan International Airlines paid a tribute to the doctors and paramedic staff by announcing special discounts on flights on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
All those doctors and paramedical staff members who are willing to travel before Eid or during the festival will be provided with a 10% discount on all flights, said the chief executive officer PIA Arshad Malik.
According to him, these frontline heroes deserve a lot of kindness as the world is at a very crucial stage and the doctors and paramedics are the ones who are putting their lives on the line and saving humanity.
Arshad Malik says that the discounted prices on the air tickets are an effort to acknowledge the services and sacrifices of all the health professionals.
All the medics can receive their air tickets on discounted rates, all they need to do is show their identity cards issued to them by PMDC (Pakistan Medical and Dental Council).
On May 17th, PIA declared that all the airlines which operate domestic flights from Pakistan airport will charge similar fares.
The one-way ticket from Karachi to Lahore or Islamabad will cost Rs. 22,826 tax included.
The one-way ticket of Quetta from Islamabad or Karachi or Lahore-bound flights from Quetta will cost Rs. 14, 448 including tax.
This decision of charging an equal amount of fares from the passengers has been made after consulting the government. The purpose of this decision aims to ensure avoid overcharging, said the spokesperson of PIA.
He further added that the people willing to travel can book their tickets from PIA’s website or offices.
