The national flag carrier has introduced the work from home policy for a certain set of employees.
PIA has adopted work from home policy for the women, for the diabetic employees and for all the employees who are more than 50 years of age. Whereas the remaining staff has been asked to be on duty.
Pakistan National Airlines (PIA) has imposed flexible work hours and has made the shift rotations for the front-end operations.
The decision has come after the orders of the cabinet division to limit the manpower at the workplaces. Previously, in the month of March, the Aviation Division suspended its flight operations as part of the steps being taken to curb the spread of the coronavirus. Only cargo flights and special planes have been given the permit to continue on with their operations.
The decision, but has annoyed some of the PIA employees, as they say, that when there are no flight operations then it makes no sense for the employees to resume office operations.
The employees have also raised their complaints about the lack of hygiene and the lack of personal precaution equipment at their offices. They indicated that most young people reside in a joint family structure and the young people going out for work, places the elderly back home at risk.
