PIA Introduced New Reservation System Causing Service Failure & Flight Delays

The Pakistan International Airline (PIA) introduced a new Turkish web-based product ‘HITIT’ aiming to offer a suitable passenger service system. But as the entire booking system of PIA was being transferred, the service went completely down & flights were delayed.

Senator Sherry Rehman tweeted, “Yesterday the entire booking system of @Official_PIA was being transferred to another system. At no office were they able to make a single booking. Both Karachi and Islamabad had collapsed. Why was there no contingency plan if such a huge transfer was being made?”

People were furious that the PIA staff has not been trained in accordance with the new system.

“Traveing to from via ..Long Queues on boarding cards issuance counters, upon asking staff said New system introduced & they don’t understand it properly so its taking time..Pathetic..Trainng karanay ka practice nahi hai iss company mein ?”

PIA IT system crumbles 100s stranded at Isb Airport. Several flights cancelled. Booking staff not issued passwords, even not informed of system change. Heated exchange of words bw staff n passengers.”

“Just flew ISB-KHI on PIA The aircraft, a 777-200, may be airworthy to fly, but in a sad state for the passengers. 2ndly flight was late by 2 hrs as the system was down. Even an organized bus service wud do better! Criminal negligence or organized destruction of a national asset?”

PIA apologized for the inconvenience that passengers have faced and tweeted, “Our sincere apologies for any inconvenience that passengers at Islamabad Airport may be facing due to the transition to the new technology. We assure you, this is a one- time situation and appreciate your understanding as we continue to improve our customer experience. ”
