The ruling PTI government of Pakistan has decided to move the national air carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) head office to Islamabad from Karachi. In a meeting chaired by Prime Minister Imran Khan, the decision was taken on transferring the PIA Head Office to Islamabad.
This step is being taken because the Aviation Division is in the federal capital, Islamabad. By the end of July, a final recommendation will be presented.
As per reports, an immediate decision was not taken because the representatives from the aviation division including Director General of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) could not attend the meeting.
The report stated that the formation of a new aviation policy was also discussed in order to enhance the productivity of PIA.
