PIA Considers Offloading Overweight Flight Attendants from International Flights

The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) management is considering on the prospect of offloading overweight flight attendants from the international flights, as per the reports of ARY News today.

There are just 4 days left in the deadline to end that has been given to the cabin crew who are overweight to reduce their weight by the airline. The details regarding all such overweight employees was collected by the PIA flight Service General Manager—Amir Bashir.

Other than this the national flag carrier is also pondering to offload cabin crew with excessive weight from the international flights, as per sources close to this development.

Previously, on the 1st of January in an effort for improving the performance of the national flag carrier it issued a memo, instructing 1,800 cabin crew to lose weight up to the set standard or otherwise face being grounded.

The PIA administration made the announcement to slowly decrease the waiver of 30 pounds excess weigh to zero pounds in the months to come for the flight attendants.

The notification mentioned that if any crew member would be found over 30 pounds from the desired set weight after the 31st of January 2019, that crew member would then be grounded and would be referred to the Air Crew Medical Centre for medical evaluation and treatment until the weight is reduced to the desired standard.

Weight check for all the flight attendants would be conducted in their respective base stations.
