PIA has barred meal service on the local flights, as per the reports of local media. The meal service has been suspended owing to the COVID-19 outbreak.
Amir Bashir, the General Manager of the Pakistan International Airlines has given directives on the matter.
The decision to bar the meal service has been taken in the best interest of the people of the country as part of the preventive step against the coronavirus.

Only water service would be offered to the passengers on the local flights.
Previously on Saturday, the national flag carrier had suspended its international flight services.
PIA’s international flight operation would remain suspended from the 22nd of March until the 28th of March, the local flights would be continued as per schedule.
The flight operation throughout the world has been suspended as a preventive measure for curbing the outbreak of the coronavirus, as a number of other nations have been also suspended their flight operations owing to the risk.
As per sources, the decision has been taken on the instructions of the Aviation Authority.
The sources have indicated that the CAA has suffered Rs.2.5 billion loss during the span of the last ten days.
