National air carrier Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has made the announcement that it is increasing the flight operations in main cities of Pakistan. These cities are Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, and Quetta.
The PIA spokesperson stated that PIA will operate flights between Lahore and Karachi on a daily basis. Also, two daily flights will operate between Islamabad and Karachi.
PIA will operate special flights to Saudi Arabia, the Central Asian states and Iraq. Also, flights to and from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) would also begin soon, as per the spokesperson.
Last week, PIA had announced a further reduction in fares for domestic flights.
As per the spokesperson of PIA, the national air carrier has made “historic reduction” in domestic prices.
The spokesperson said, “The one-way fare from Karachi to Islamabad and from Karachi to Lahore has been fixed at Rs9,572, while passengers will also be allowed to carry 7 kilogramme (kg) of hand luggage.”
Furthermore, the spokesman said that the discounted rates would come into effect immediately. Regarding the reduction in prices, this was second announcement made. A week early, PIA reduced the domestic flights fares and fixed a price of Rs12,000 for a one-way ticket. This was inclusive of all taxes for various destinations including Islamabad.
