It has been announced by Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) that it is planning to operate direct flights from Karachi to Skardu. PIA sales manager was directed by the PIA Chief Operating Officer Arshad Malik regarding making arrangements for direct flights between the two cities.
Twice a week, PIA will operate Airbus 320 flights between Karachi and Skardu. It has been decided, as per the reports that if the weather gets bad it would be diverted to the Islamabad International Airport.
The Gilgit Baltistan residents in Karachi will be given special facilities to avail the direct flight between Karachi and Skardu.
Earlier, there was one flight scheduled per day from Islamabad to Skardu. This is a good initiative as it will boost tourism. More people would be willing to take the flight from Karachi to Skardu, who otherwise would have to travel to Islamabad to make that trip.
In an earlier article, we informed our readers regarding Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) administration announcing 14% discount on its domestic flights. PIA took this decision to offer discounts before the Independence Day celebrations.
Also, PIA will resume flight operations to and from the UK starting from 14th August. The PIA spokesperson Abdullah Khan revealed this.
