The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has approved Rs400 million for the establishment of a female-only youth club in Peshawar for promoting healthy activities in women.
Atif Khan—the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Senior Minister for Tourism, Sports, Youth, Culture and Archaeology chaired the meeting in which the budget for the youth club venture was given approval.
Minister Khan also posted on Twitter about the development by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Tourism Corporation.
The women of the province would have a chance to enjoy a female only spot provided with all basic facilities like gym, theatre, yoga, board games, and a rooftop café. Besides all of this, there would be the facility of playing virtual e-games and a play area for the children.

During the meeting decision was also taken about the introduction of “books on vehicles” for promoting the habit of book reading among the youth.
Where there was so much going on for providing space and independence to the women of the Northern province, many users on social media criticized the pictures which were posted on social media as they showed lack of female representation in the meeting.
On other social media activist tweeted that not a single woman was present in the meeting that took the decision of female-only club.
Some Twitteratis even responded in favour of the decision and justified the absence of women representation by saying that the females went for visiting the site when the photo was clicked.
Another Twitter user wrote that the suggestions of all female members were already taken before the approval decision was finalized of the female youth club. The user further added that it is a good initiative by the KP government hence should be applauded.
Local authorities generally manage youth clubs. They are the spots where the local residents go to spend their free time. These clubs are provided with resources for the development of social and physical skills of the locals.
