Shaukat Yousafzai, the Information Minister of KP has made the announcement that the Peshawar Bus Rapid Transport (BRT) would be made operational by April 2020 and would cost less than the Lahore Bus Project, as per the reports of local media.

The other construction to be built with the BRT premises includes a commercial plaza and other building structures would add Rs.35 billion more to the cost of the Peshawar BRT, making it a project of Rs.70 billion.
He added that they have asked to release 4 billion more for the project for ensuring that work on the project is not stopped.
He also said that they had bought buses worth up to Rs.8.5 billion for running on the track of BRT.
On the 4th of February, the provincial information minister said that 50 buses are available at the corridor.
The minister said that training of the staff and drivers of the project is presently being done and the provincial government would be able to conduct a test run of the project in April.
