Pepsi plans to sell the water in cans. There is nothing more loved and enjoyed than having a cold shot of pure drinking water.
PepsiCo—the famous beverage brand, which is currently facing criticism against plastic, would now be experimenting with putting its Aquafina water in cans.
The beverage company would start selling the cans from next year. It would be partnering with stadiums and restaurants, as informed by PepsiCo last week. The beverage giant would try out the repackaged product at some retail outlets.
PepsiCo informed that the changes in the packaging plan would go into effect in 2020. The firm anticipates that the move would eliminate more than 8,000 metric tons of new plastic and nearly 11,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions.
Aluminium could hold more reused material than plastic bottles, and the consumers are most likely to recycle them. The repackaged product would also have fewer chances of being found floating in the ocean.
The company said that it has got plans of making all of its product packaging recyclable, biodegradable or compostable and use 25percent recycles plastic in all of its packagings by the year 2025.
