A veteran leader of the ruling political party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Faisal Javed Khan through a Tweet on Thursday, said that Rs 1493 million (Rs 1.49 billion) has been deposited in the corona relief fund established by the Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan.
The citizens have so far deposited donations amounting to Rs1.49 billion in PM’ corona relief fund during the period of last 15 days, he said.

“Hats off to generosity of Pakistanis for contributing towards this great cause,” he added.
It is pertinent to mention here that Imran Khan—the Prime Minister of Pakistan, on March 27, had announced to establish a corona relief fund to provide relief to the people of the country due to the coronavirus pandemic.
“We are going to start a major charity project under the Ehsaas programme. Whoever wants to do a welfare activity could easily reach the deserving people through a database,” he added.
“Prime Minister’s COVID-19 Pandemic Relief Fund-2020 has been set up to help us fight this pandemic. I want everyone to donate towards this fund which will be used to take care of all those who have been made destitute by the lockdown,” on April 1, the Prime Minister said through a tweet.
