In the latest advisory, the regulatory body said that there is no bar on the participation of journalists in the talk shows.
The recent advisory has clarified that there is no advisory to ban the participation of journalists in the talk shows. There is no bar on the anchor-persons to make their appearance on any talk shows for having long-duration group marathon transmission on a special hot issue on their channels and also inviting other relevant guests where required.
PEMRA mentioned that it never wanted to restrict the freedom of expression as being emphasized by a few.
Regarding its letter issued on the 27th of October, the regulatory body said that the advisory has been issued in accordance with the current PEMRA laws, Programme Ads Code of Conduct-2015 and advisories issued from time to time on the non-implementation of the current code of conduct.
