PEMRA Bars Kashif Abbasi for 2 Months

PEMRA has barred Kashif Abbasi for 2 months.

Kashif Abbasi a senior journalist, an anchorperson and a television talk show host has been banned by PEMRA, for on-airing and permitting unethical actions performed in his private show, which is screened by the name of “Off the Record”.

Faisal Vawda, the federal minister has displayed a boot in the live on-air show, criticizing the earlier Government and the Opposition Parties, which permits the other guests Qamar Zaman Kaira of PPP, Muhammad Javed Abbasi of PMLN left the show in between.

PEMRA has said that the act was unethical as per the ethics and it is the violation of PEMRA Ordinance 2002 as per the amendment by PEMRA Act 2007, for showing on the live TV.

In response to the ban Kashif Abbasi has said that act is against the Freedom of Speech, Article 19.

On the other hand, as per the latest development, advance bookings for the recent most popular drama Merey Pas Tum Ho have begun. As per the channel owners on-airing the drama serial the drama would be shown in the cinemas keeping in consideration the fame it has revived.
