Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decides to host the PSL 6 at two venues. The tournament will be held in Karachi and Lahore due to the terrible situation of the novel coronavirus in the country.
Although Rawalpindi and Multan were set to host PSL matches this time around as well, PCB has decided against it to bring about the tournament smoothly. It has been decided that all the matches will be played behind closed doors, keeping in view the situation of COVID-19.
As per the reports, few of the authorizations were doomed with the scheduling of the previous edition of PSL. Quetta Gladiators were apparently unhappy with their schedule because it involved a lot of traveling. The matches being played in 2 cities will help the PCB manage the tournament better, and the teams will be required to travel less.
Moreover, the tournament has been divided into 2 phases. In the first phase, which will run from February 20th to March 7th, all the matches will be played at the National Stadium Karachi. The teams will then move to Lahore to play the leftover matches, including the final.
The opening match of the 6th edition of PSL will be played between defending champions, Karachi Kings, and former champions, Quetta Gladiators, on Saturday, February 20th, 2021 at Karachi’s National Stadium.
On the other hand, the final of PSL 6 will be played on Sunday, March 21, 2021, at Gaddafi Stadium Lahore. All the dates are unsure and will be confirmed after reviewing the coronavirus situation in the country.
