PCB Channel

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is planning to launch its own cricket channel very soon. Initial preparations have begun regarding PCB cricket channel’s launch.

Present PCB Chairman Najam Sethi claimed that an application has been submitted to PEMRA (Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority)  for the issuance of a license for a cricket channel. If the channel is launched, Pakistan would become the first Test playing nation & PCB the first board with its own cricket TV channel. Sethi said that the channel will broadcast other programs rather than just cricket matches. He said that he plans to introduce documentaries through the channel that can improve the image of Pakistan globally.

Najam Sethi also said that Pakistan Cricket Board is buying airtime via open tender to show live cricket for at least 80 days along with local, international cricket matches. Also, the channel will broadcast Pakistan Super League (PSL) live on the channel.

Even though PCB is planning new projects for improvement of cricket in Pakistan, there is a likelihood that PCB Chairman will be replaced as the government changes in the country. Rumor is that Pakistan’s cricket regulatory body will be changed and former cricketer Wasim Akram will be made the Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB).
