Passengers Will No More go through Screening Process Thrice at Pakistani Airports

Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has given new orders, as per which the travelers going abroad will not have to go through the screening process thrice at the Pakistani airports.

CAA issued a notification as per which the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF), Airport Security Force (ASF) and Pakistan Customs will search passengers collaboratively at the same counter.

On the direction of Interior Ministry, CAA has developed joint baggage, search counters and joint CCTV at different airports.

Sources said that the staff at different airports has neglected the order from the Interior Ministry.

Another reason for the non-compliance of the ministry’s order was the lack of mutual coordination between the departments at the airport.

Airport managers have been sent letters by CAA in which it was stated that some of the departments were not following the orders of joint search of passengers.

The intentional travelers will be screened thrice at three different counters that are of ASF, ANF and Customs.

There was a lot of time wasted due to three-time screening and the passengers also faced a lot of inconvenience at Pakistani airports. Thus keeping the ease of passengers in mind, this initiative has been taken.
